     KRIS KNIGHT / Kris Knight’s small portraits are all too perfect, pale skin and rosy cheeks are mischievously beautiful. Idle figures boldly stare out from their adolescent past while embarking on the performance of identity that comes with being on the verge of adulthood. Knight’s figures are a clin d’oeil to the tradition of portraiture with an androgynous beauty that emerges from a repressed need to fit within a contained set of desires and expectations. Kris Knight is a Toronto based artist, with a visual arts degree from the Ontario College of art and design. His work has been widely exhibited in recent years throughout Canada and the United States.
