Vitaly Medvedovsky’s Lock Stock and Two Smoking trolls turns memory work into a humorous adventure into the fantastical. Stepping far outside of the realm of reality, Medvedovsky’s latest paintings render the make believe with precision, blurring the realism of his work. Assembling ordinary and bizarre objects within disproportionate settings, Medvedovsky continues to paint a surreal landscape for his everyday life.

Vitaly Medvedovsky was born in Kharkov, Ukraine, and immigrated to Canada in 1998. After receiving his Honours BFA from the Ontario College of Art and Design, he completed an MFA in painting at Concordia University.  Medvedovsky has exhibited his work in Montreal, Toronto, Vancouver Philadelphia, and Los Angeles and is the recipient of numerous awards. In 2009, Vitaly Medvedovsky was granted an Ontario Arts Council emerging artist grant and won the Joseph Plaskett award, a nationwide annual painting competition held in Canada. Galerie PUSH is proud to present Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Trolls from November 26th until January 10, 2010.
