Born in Calgary in 1978, Wil Murray studied painting at the Alberta College of Art and Design and has lived in Montreal since 2004. In September 2008, Murray received honorable mention at the 10th RBC Canadian Painting Competition, the most important competition of its kind in Canada, for its painting Sex Maniac Maniac Maniac Maniac Maniac. Murray’s work has been selected for publication in Carte Blanche, Vol. 2: Painting , published in 2008; it will be presented at the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts in November 2009 during an auction celebrating the 25th anniversary of ESSE magazine.
